Global Strategic Commodity Manager - electronic parts

BMZ Poland Gliwice is part of BMZ the Innovation Group, a leading supplier of intelligent power supply and energy storage systems based on lithium-ion technology on the global market. BMZ Gliwice is the largest manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries in Poland, which brings great opportunities. BMZ powers electric bicycles, scooters, power tools, garden tools, utility vehicles and electric buses. Also combines advanced knowledge in the field of electronics with passion and care for the environment.

Currently we are looking for dynamic Global Strategic Commodity Manager with significant knowledge in electronic parts field. This is a global role highly visible in BMZ Group structure and based in Gliwice.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in building BMZ global purchasing organization
• Develop, lead and communicate strategies for assigned categories
• Lead supplier selection activities to ensure these are in line with category strategies and support the needs of the business
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationship
• Utilize strategic Procurement tools and techniques to drive maximum value (TCO, Should-Cost Modelling, etc)
• Prepare Business Cases, including ROI models, and effectively present rational for cost savings opportunities
• Drive working capital improvement through extending supplier payment terms
• Implement supplier agreements to reduce risk and drive the required level of supplier performance from the assigned categories
• Maintain current knowledge industry and market factors affecting assigned categories, to allow for effective discussion and negotiating
• Lead and support Make vs Buy activities – acting as expert for assigned categories

Our requirements

• Degree – ideally within Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or Economics
• Significant experience within Procurement on Managerial Positions (7 +); ideally with experience of developing and implementing category strategies
• Very good command of English language
• Very good command of German language
• Experienced in cost management practices, with a history of delivery against cost reduction targets
• High negotiation skills
• Ability to work under high pressure and in a dynamic environment
• Experience in working in matrix structures
